Summary

  • Remove hard-coded plugin and jfrog-skills versions from READMEs (GitHub tags/releases are the source of truth).
  • Stop documenting README link bumps when vendoring skills.
  • Add a CI check that fails if READMEs reintroduce plugin versions or version-pinned skill URLs.

Fixes AX-2170

Test plan

  • README has no plugin version callout and no blob/vX.Y.Z jfrog-skills links
  • PR CI runs the new README version validation step
  • Existing manifest/marketplace version consistency checks still pass

Versions live in manifests, tags, and GitHub Releases. CI now fails if
READMEs reintroduce version strings.
